Ellen McErlane
I started making glass in 1984 while working as a metalsmith. At that time lamp or flamework was not in vogue. Basically Americans were self taught. In 1999 I was able to study glass in Venice and Murano Italy. I made glass in a factory using old world techniques. In 2003 and 2004, I studies lampwork bead making in Prague Cz. and in 20010 Istanbul Turkey. Then in 2014 I traveled to Lauscha Germany to work with four generations of glass makers. Glass give color and life to my gold and silver.
I'm a lampwork glass artist ...I use a torch to melt glass ....... I have a love of color.. It takes many years to become a master. Glass is a Universal language... a currency, and a passion. Thanks for considering me for your show...
