A California native and Monterey Bay resident since 1971,I've been surrounded by natural beauty my entire life thus far. I have been surfing in the Monterey Bay since 1982; and since 1993 have operated my own business, Sand Dollar Surfboard Repair.
I've also had the good fortune to be surrounded by creative,talented people who have influenced,educated,and inspired me as I've grown along my own path. I've always appreciated quality of light. Photography has given me the lexicon to describe and share it.
I'm a fan of contrast ,and in particular, exploring the space that exists between two contrasting elements. Dark and light. Land and sea. Day and night. My mission is to capture the magic in that time and space that often presents itself. My images are distinct partly because I seek out lesser known locales and shoot in a way that allows me to convey my unique vision. I also try to present a fresh perspective when I'm on a well travelled path.
