Martha Special T's was founded in 1992 in the San Fernando Valley, a
suburb of Los Angeles. I learn how to sew as a little girl by watching my
mother make bridal dresses. As early as the age of 8, I began making my own doll dresses. As a teen I went to advance sewing classes and created my own outfits by altering my pants & blouses. My mother also taught me how to crochet and knit.
In 1992, I created Martha's Special T's with my husband. Producing quality products out of our home, each piece that we make is guaranteed to satisfy every customer. We are able to make this guarantee because every piece is made by hand. What started out as a simple idea has flourish into a successful home business. We limit our selves to make small amount of festivals and shows each year which allows us the time to create the highest quality product and continue going to school to learn more advance knitting techniques like entrelac , felting and intriguing ideas.
Recently, We decided to go back to my original passion of making hats. All our hats can be made from a variety of fabric including wool. fleece or tapestry, cotton . All our items are handmade or handcrafted by my husband and I and we own all our original designs and patterns. We also only use fiber made in U.S.A for any of all our products. Nothing brings me more pride than when my customers comment of the quality, originality and durability of my products.
I spend many hours designing a new hat. I have to make the a sample and then make all
the necessary changes for the hat to look and work right. I listen to my costumers with
their suggestions. This helps me make a unique and usable hat.
My husband does all the cutting of the yardage material, I always enjoyed the designing,
sewing, knit and crochet hats and make the matching scarves, as well hand paint seasonal hats our goal is to combine old ideas with new trends.
We create and design wearable art our own original Hats and accessories cut and sewn or knit crochet Hand paint, assemble or handcrafted patterns. We been offering beautiful handmade hats and accessories. paying particular attention to detail and construction, Martha's Hats are individually created to enjoy, this hats very from cloches to wide brims, and span the ages from the 1920's to the present. all our hats are made from variety of fabrics and fibers depending on the hat. Martha's hats are know for the hint of nostalgia; a fusion or yesterday class and today's chic.
